Picture Properties and Visual Effects

Postby jeffw » Sat Jan 30, 2010 10:29 pm

1- when i place a picture into an Area Template, the name of the picture displayed in the Properties>Picture is not the name of the file that i placed; the name gets concatenated, e.g. the original file name is C&W_Image.jpg which is shown as CWImage.jpg in the >Picture field in the properties. Another placed image file is named C&W_Image_transp.jpg; this is displayed exactly like the other==>CWImage.jpg?? This needs some explanation so image files can be named accordingly to Goldfish handling of the file names.

the image as created in PhotoShop has a transparent background, but when placed into Goldfish the background is opaque??

Also,

2- in goldfish Help there is an explanation of Visual Effects >>> Effects > Change Picture; short explanation and even shorter option in the Properties Menu, i.e. NOWHERE to be found??

This is another example of Goldfish software not making it anywhere close to the bar height the developers set themselves for the softwares presentation and capabilities.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>>>
THINK TWICE, and even three or four times before you buy Goldfish; I would like my money back, Goldfish is a big disappointment.

The .jpg format does not support transparency, that's what .gif and .png is for.
Your only other option would be to cut out the object you want from the image and place it against a background the same color as your page background.
This will fake the appearance of a transparency, but it can be very difficult to get the image color to match your page background color exactly.
Try using a .png they work for me.
